Drinking Beer when dieting
Jonny is my lovely boyfriend. Jonny and I are trying to lose a bit of weight but Jonny likes beer. We have realised that this is more problematic than we originally thought.
Bless him, he gave up beer for only a couple of weeks and he lost 7lbs with no extra effort. Unfortunately, he’s put the weight back on and this makes him sad which in turn makes me sad. I don’t like being sad so I’m on a fact-finding mission…
Anyway, I’ve found a website called Aleuminati (I’m waiting for my membership to be confirmed) but once I get on the forums, I’m hoping to be able to source the best beers for dieters. After all, we should all get to enjoy a little of what we fancy as long as we don’t take it too far and get ‘rat-arsed’ every night and drink 1000 calories in the process!
Watch this space – I’m hoping to find out what the tastiest beers are that are diet-friendly too!

Hi
Was directed to this site through your bf’s b3ta page. So give him a hug! Nice to see some good sensible advice on dieting instead of quack solutions like acai and things.
At the moment I’m at that magical place of being neither under or overweight. I’m so tiny that simply putting on half a stone will make a difference to my body!
Over the summer I got Swine Flu and was therefore sad and bored. I was meant to be going on holiday to China, which added to the badness. Over the summer I drank LOTS of pints, sat on the sofa ill all day and ate fatty comfort food. So, weight came on. Made me feel even worse, because all my clothes were too tight.
So – I stopped drinking the pints. Kept eating some of the junk food (fresh cream filled doughnuts are my weakness, as is soft cream cheese), but less of it. Lost most of the weight quite quickly. I think it was all pints – I’m sure tons of people would be surprised at the calories in a pint: 240! A woman would only need 4 or 5 pints to have half of her calorie intake for the day! Premium lager is 335 calories.
Cheers for all the info
And keep up the blog!
